Big Bass equals big cash as Yamamoto Big Bass Open comes to the California Delta

Yamamoto Big Bass Event

The two-day Yamamoto Big Bass Open brings big cash to California Delta fishermen presented by Anglers Press on June 4 and 5.

Featuring a $10,000 cash grand prize and a $2,000 overall big fish award is only the beginning of the giveaways in the bass battle ready to play out on the Delta waterways.  In addition to the overall and grand prizes, every hour, every angler in the Yamamoto Big Bass Open has a chance at five other big fish cash awards … that’s right, five more payouts, every hour.

Each hour for six tournament hours of both days of the Open, the top-five biggest bass weighed will win a cash prize. Hourly payouts are:

  • 1st   $500
  • 2nd  $300
  • 3rd   $250
  • 4th   $200
  • 5th   $125

Anglers are asking, “What’s the catch?” However, there is no catch, only a challenge to catch all fish on any Yamamoto or Kinami product.

The Anglers Press website explains the tournament strategy saying,

“The format of this event will be unique in that it matches angling skill against weigh-in strategy
and many anglers who have participated in this type of event, refer to it as bass fishing’s version of
Texas “hold em” poker. That’s because during each hour – for six hours, anglers catching a big fish
quickly become faced with making the decision to either “cash in” their hand (or big fish) for a chance
at that hour’s big fish money, OR “hold em” and opt to bring their BIG Fish to the scales during the
following hour, with the hopes of grabbing a piece of that hour’s BIG Fish cash bounty.”

The event entry will also include fishing seminars and a BBQ during pre-reg at the Hook, Line and Sinker in Oakley on June 3.

“Early bird” registrants will be entered into a raffle for Humminbird electronics and other prizes.

Anglers will also be treated to an event raffle, the only ticket is empty packages of Yamamoto or Kinami baits.

Anglers ready to take the challenge will put down $150 to compete both days.

The event will blast off from Russo’s Marina.

The Yamamoto Big Bass Open will be presented by Anglers Press a business that “Communicates the Business of Angling”.

Featuring fun, affordable, first class-fishing related events, Anglers Press, a parent company of the Future Pro Tour also serves fishermen with business services and presents the Snag Proof Open, Lucky Craft Open, Vanity Cup, Take a Kid Fishing and Berkley Big Bass venues.

Registration forms and additional information can be found at the Anglers Press website.
