The event also has a postive impact upon the community and the state of Texas, generating a significant amount of money for Texas Parks & Wildlife Department programs that expose children and non-traditional users to the sport of fishing. To date, the TTBC has raised $1 million dollars for such programs, with another donation of at least $250,000 pledged for 2011.
