Fishhound to Provide Real-Time Scoring at the Toyota Texas Bass Classic

Fishhound, the Web’s most comprehensive provider of real-time fishing reports supplied by professional anglers, licensed guides and charter captains, has been selected by the Toyota Texas Bass Classic (TTBC) to provide the technology that will enable real-time scoring for the upcoming tournament, where the top 50 professional anglers in the world will compete for nearly half a million dollars in cash and prizes and title of 2011 World Champion. The TTBC will leverage Fishhound’s mobile applications to enable judges to submit real-time information to the Tournament organizers and allow them to create a fan-experience that has previously never been seen before.

Fishhound will be contributing to the overall success of the TTBC by creating excitement and drama with the real-time scoreboard. “We are honored to have been selected by the Toyota Texas Bass Classic organizers,” said Rick Patri, Fishhound’s Vice President, Operations. “We look forward to making the TTBC more exciting than ever before with our real-time tournament scoring and to being a part of the future of angling tournaments.”

“We’re thrilled to be working with Fishhound to do something that’s never been done before. Leveraging their technology platform and mobile applications to provide real-time reports while judges are on the water, will help us bring an entirely new level of  fan experience.” said Lenny Francoeur, Toyota Texas Bass Classic Event Director.

Assembling top anglers from all of the major professional leagues, including the PAA Bass Pro Shops Tournament Series, Bassmaster Elite Series, and the Walmart FLW Tour, the TTBC has evolved into a true bass-fishing world championship. The event also has a postive impact upon the community and the state of Texas, generating a significant amount of money for Texas Parks & Wildlife Department programs that expose children and non-traditional users to the sport of fishing.  To date, the TTBC has raised $1 million dollars for such programs, with another donation of at least $250,000 pledged for 2011.
