This weekend is the third stop for Thunder Valley Outdoors/Future Pro Tour anglers, and according Gary Dobyns, the west’s all time money winner and absolute master of that particular body of water, the bite couldn’t be any better.
“The tour is going to this lake at the perfect time, and most of you should be able to boat over 50 keepers this weekend…it’s just that good right now,” noted the 2009 U.S. Open champion.
And right now on the Future Pro Tour website you can get detailed information from both Gary and Richard Dobyns about how they would approach the lake – and this tournament, in a featured video contained within the “FPT Showtime Video Library” dubbed – EZ5-Lake Oroville 2011. And as this weekend’s event is virtually on the same weekend as last years event, the information is still very much appilicable.

EZ5 is produced exclusively for FPT anglers by the BassHookUps production crew, and is designed to help you quickly locate and catch an “easy” limit of fish. The viewing is also easy as the segments are short, “no-frills”, 5 minute clips that cut right to the point, giving those who don’t have the time or money to pre-fish, an opportunity to find some success at the upcoming event they wish to participate in.
And for those of you that will be fishing this weekend’s Oroville event….. it’s not too late to call the FPT offices and signup, as entries for this event are very good, and we are expecting a large field of competitors. Late signups will be available the morning of the event at the spillway parking lot beginning at 4:00am, where limited memberships of just $5 per angler will be available for those that can only fish a few events or, for those that just want to “try out” the Future Pro Tour.
