PAA Adds Comeau to its Ranks as Communications Director

The Professional Anglers Association has selected Russ “Bassdozer” Comeau, a veteran in bass fishing media and promotional marketing, to serve as PAA Communications Director effective immediately.

PAA President Dave Mansue speaking on behalf of the PAA Board and members said, “We are very excited to have Russ, his knowledge and expertise join the ranks of the PAA.”

Comeau began a career on Wall Street in the late 1970s, ascending to First Vice President of New Business Development & Technology at AMBAC, Inc. He christened a new career in the sportfishing industry in 2000. He was key in helping Gary Yamamoto Custom Baits rise from a small business to a household name among bass anglers in the USA. Comeau was instrumental in helping SEBILE Innovative Fishing during its meteoric rise in the US market in its first four years of business. He also assisted several other domestic and imported tackle brands to establish strong markets for their brands in the USA.

Comeau’s role at the PAA will start with working toward increasing the PAA’s social media presence and website traffic, writing weekly stories for the PAA website, covering PAA Tournament Series events, helping gain new sponsors for the PAA, and working with PAA staff to help bring more positive PR to the PAA.

“I’ve been attending PAA events and forging relationships with PAA members for several years now, leaving no doubt that this is an organization that’s growing quickly and that I wanted to be a part of,” said Comeau.

The Professional Anglers Association was formed in 2002 to provide a unified voice for professional fishermen in order to grow the sport of bass fishing, administer educational programs for average anglers and to embrace sound conservation practices to further the future of the sport.
