The Great Outdoors Poker Challenge!  IS BACK!

Anglers Press News Center  Sacramento, Ca. -The Thunder Valley Casino – Great Outdoors Poker Challenge! hosted last year by Thunder Valley Outdoors/Future Pro Tour, saw an unbelievable number of outdoor enthusiasts from all over northern California converge on the luxury hotel  and gaming center, to participate in what was one of the most exciting specialty events of that year.

Outdoor notables such as B.A.S.S Elite Series champions Byron Velvick and Ish Monroe,  FLW champions R.J. Bennett and Zack Thompson, Lure designer Alan Fong, along with ultimate Bass Radio’s Kent Brown  to name a few, were part of the event  with elimination bounties placed on their heads, helping to make the event even more dramatic and exciting.

Given the success of that event, along with the overwhelming requests for another, Thunder Valley Casino in conjunction with the Thunder Valley Outdoor’s/Future Pro Tour is pleased to announce and present a series of Outdoorsman’s Poker challenges that will take place through the summer and fall months which will again be loads of fun for anglers and outdoor enthusiasts of ALL interests.

The Great Outdoors Poker Challenge! is coming back to Thunder Valley Casino, with the first of two Texas Hold Em style poker tournaments specifically designed for outdoor enthusiasts. The first tournament will take place on Thursday, July 21st, at Thunder Valley Casino and will require NO BUY-IN whatsoever to participate in, and will pay a top prize of $500 to the winner of each qualifying event, as well as gaming chips prizes to the events final top 10 finishers!

To add to the fun, some of the west’s top pro bass anglers will again participate in these events with each pro having a reward bounty placed on them, where the participant that eliminates that bass pro from the competition, will receive a bonus awards such as that pro’s favorite rod, reels and bait combo or other great prizes!  In addition, all those eliminated from competition, will be entered into a FREE drawing for premium prizes!

The July 21st “kick-off” event will be the first of two events (the 2nd event will be held in September) that will allow you to qualify for the Great Outdoors Poker Challenge! – Tournament of Champions event to be held November 3rd, at Thunder Valley Casino, where only the top 30 finishers from each of the two qualifying events will battle it out for the inaugural Great Outdoors Poker Challenge!  Thunder Valley Cup  and a first place prize of $1,000 cash! Cash prizes will be also be given out to the top 10 finishers, with opportunities to win vacation cruises to Mexico,  $100 dollars coupons for slot play, free night stays at the casino, free dining coupons to Thunder Valley Casino’s outstanding buffet, sports fishing and personal guide trips, outdoor sportsman packages and more!

Please note that space for each of these events will be limited, so if you want to get in, it is imperative that you call the FPT offices RIGHT AWAY to reserve and guarantee your seat at one of the tables. On the day of the event, registration/check-in will begin promptly at 5:00pm, where you will register and receive your FREE Thunder Valley rewards card, free gift, plus meet/greet some of the bounty labeled bass fishing pros participating in the event.

Tournament competition begins promptly at 6:00pm so make sure you get to the casino early so you will be ready to play! And remember….you DO NOT have to be a member of the Future Pro Tour to participate in these events, simply a person who enjoys and participates in outdoor activities.

What better way for northern California’s anglers and outdoor enthusiasts to round out a great year of outdoors activities than for Thunder Valley Outdoors to bring some more fun  indoors, to a gaming venue that is for sure the most comprehensive and luxurious in the west!

Good luck everyone, as we look forward to seeing you all there!
