The fishing would is changing due to the social network. There are many anglers that are posting videos and sharing their fishing trips with the world. Even Ron Lindner is posting videos on his facebook page showing what goes into shooting an Angling Edge show. The social network is creating a network of anglers from around the globe showcasing their fishing skills and sharing information with one another. You can do a search on where you live and water that you’re interested in fishing and there is a good chance you will find informative video on the area on-line. I have a video background and from an early age I would bring a video camera to the lake with me. Growing up in New Jersey I never got to see shows that involved my state. Every weekend the fishing channels always were in some far away place. My friends and I enjoyed showing the videos we shot to family and friends. We never stopped taking the camera on fishing trips, it was way better to have video of trips then still photos. This past year I decided to apply for a public access grant to create a fishing show for Northern New Jersey. I also created a YouTube Channel that featured the shows that air on the public access TV. The YouTube channel is well received by many anglers and I even run into people on the water that caught the show on YouTube! The social network has let me showcase many of my states best waters and fishing opportunities. We have met many great anglers that appeared on the show and look forward to growing our audience. It’s a new age in angling many fisherman can fit video cameras into their tackle box. It is important that anglers share information and why not share video footage!
