As the Yamamoto Big Bass Challenge quickly approaches (Mat 19 and 20), it is for sure that many anglers are anxiously preparing strategies for how to get their hands on one of the thirty cash awards that will be handed out each day for two days, at what will certainly be one of the most fun and exciting events ever to be held on the California delta.
I can’t tell you the amount of money I have won over the years using these quality baits in just about every situation and condition imaginable, noted the 2009 U.S. Open champion. The bite on the delta in mid May should be wide open, and the opportunity to catch a big bass and win some nice cash prizes – for a low entry fee, using Yamamoto baits has never been better.
Yamamoto Big Bass Tournament Rules
Please appreciate and respect the fact that this event is being presented and sponsored by Yamamoto and Kinami baits, and is intended first and foremost to bring a big event to the west that is fun.
It was also designed to allow ANY angler – regardless of their skill level, to have the opportunity to participate in a low entry fee event that will provide good cash incentives for their efforts. There is no circuit to commit to, no membership to pay, it is close to home for most, and is on one of the best bodies of water in the country – at one of the best times of the year.
In an effort to make certain that everyone is clear on the bait restrictions and parameters for this event, please review and adhere to the following guidelines:
Yamamoto and Kinami make a WIDE variety of baits. Therefore, WHATEVER is tied to the end of your line must be a Yamamoto/Kanami bait.
Modifications:
You can modify your Yamamoto/Kanami bait anyway you want to such as:
• Adding color
• Trimming your bait
• Adding nail weights to the body of your baits
• Painting blades
Jigs/Swimbaits
Yamamoto/Kinami makes great jigs. Therefore, if you wish to fish with jigs – such as Shakey head, Football style, Flippin, or Swimbait presentations, you must use Yamamoto/Kinami jigs – modified or trailered with Yamamoto or Kinami product.
Spinnerbaits/Buzzbaits
Yamamoto/Kinami makes great spinnerbaits and buzzbaits. Therefore, if you wish to fish with spinner baits, or buzz baits, you must use Yamamoto/Kinami spinnerbaits and buzzbaits – modified and trailered with Yamamoto or Kinami product.
Terminal Tackle
Although Yamamoto/Kinaki makes some hooks, line, and weights, we realize that this is an area that many anglers use to “fine tune” their bait presentations. Therefore, you are allowed to use the hook, line, or weight, of your choice.
A-Rigs
A-Rigs, or umbrella rigs will not be allowed in this event.
